-4 TO REPATRIATION BOARD. Bj Telefrupb-Prcea /eeooiation. Chr.istchurch, November 18.In tho Magistrate's Court, Gordon Twuedie, a returned soldier, was charged with making false representation to the Canterbury Repatriation Board in order to obtain an advance to start a hairdresser's and tobacconist's business in Ohristchurch. Mr. Raymond, ICC, prosecuted. He said tho man had represented that ho had had «lereu years' experience at Cheviot as a hairdresser, and the board advanced him M 79. Lator 'l'weecUe presented a doctor's certificate that ho was suffering from neurasthenia. It was then discovered 'hat the business was a failure, and IVeedie confewed that ho had had no previous •xperisnee. He liad been ti blacksmith. The board lost over ,£9O, The case had been In ought as h warning. The boa id was not freeing for - a penalty. The solicitors for, the defence pJpuded Tweedie's ill-health as tho result of wounds in France and concussion. ' Defendant was convicted and o.dered to come up lor sentence when culled upon. ■
