Before the Select Committee which is inquiring into the financial provisions of the Child Maintenance Bill, tho TJnder-Secretary for Labour stated that tho new living wage would cost the State industries fourteen millions. Ho said it was estimated that under the basic wase tho cost of living would rise 20 per cent. The cost under the Child Maintenance Bill would bo .£i,120,000.-l , res3 Assn.
