The secretary of tho New Zealand Cricket Council has been advised by Sir James Allen that ho has received a cablegram from tho Commonwealth Minister of Defence stating that tho latter has no objection (o tho Australian Imperial Forces cricket team, which is now in South Africa, touring Now Zealand, after its return to Australia, provided no oxlipnso to the Commonwealth Defence Department is incurred. The manager of tho team has been so informed. Tho New Zealand Cricket Council has received a challenge from the- Palmcrston North High School to play tho winner of tho match between Auckland .Grammar School and King's College for tho Heathcoto Williams Shield. Tho dates suggested by tho Palmerston school for the match are December 17 and 18.
