DADDY "UNDERGRADS"
A feature of the new term at Cambridge is the large number of married undergraduates, whose studies were interrupted by t!io liar. They are chiefly from the class of young demobilised olli<:er who is spending his gratuity in socking to obtain a. degree, and the univermlv authorities are hard pressed to find longing accommodation for them and their wives. Married undergraduates' do not reside in college, but have their quarters cither in licensed university lodgings, or, when approved by the authorities, in their owu hoiuea with their wives ami babies. Owing to the general shortage of rooms, the lodging-house syndicate have extended their radiiia within which an unaorgraduatc may reside to 2!. miles from Great St. Marv's Church. There are no special rules fur married undergraduafos. Tliev are reunited to behave in a gentlemanly manner and observe all the edicts down 1.0 the nrohibition of playing warbles on the Senate House uleps. To their tutors they are simply undergraduates.
