A Press Association message from Te Kuiti states tho Prime Minister (Mr. W. I'. Massev) arrived there on Monday night' from Auckland, and yesterday morning informally met 'prominent supporters of the Reform Party. Mr. Mnssey subsequently went to Rolorua. , Dr. M. k. Watt, District Health Officer, who has been on a visit to East Cape, has returned to Wellington. It is understood that Mr. Douglas J. B. Seymour, M.A., who has been general secretory of the New Zealand Returned Soldiers' Association since March, 1917, and who has been an officer of tho association since its inception in April, 191 C, is resigning his position at an early date. Mr. P. V. Eraser, S.M., who has been ongaged in hearing the appeals of the Post and Telegraph Department, has arrived back in Wellington, where the board will continue to sit till well on in December. The death is announced from Greymouth of M'r. Edward Seddon, n brother of the late lit. Hon. R. J. Seddon. The late Mr. Seddon wns bom in Lancashire, England, 72 years ago. He had resided in New Zealand for a number of years, latterly ;it Grcymouth. He is survived bv a sister, Mrs. W. Cunliffe, of Greymouth. Mr. C. M. Gunther, general mnnager of Messrs. R. W. Cameron and Co.,'arrived in Wellington from Sydney Riverina. yesterday. He -is staying' at the Wellington Club.. • On tho eve of his marriage, Mr. H. M'Girr, of the civil staff of New Zeaf.and Military Headquarters, was presented by his office confreres with n silver and crystal epergne and a case of cutlery. The presentation was made oft behalf of the staff by Str. R. Eordyce, who referred to tho recipient's many estimable qualities. Mr. M'Girr suitably Teplied. Captain J. C. M'Gill-Nutt. is leaving Wellington on a health-recruiting visit to Jfastcrton for a few weeks.
Before dealing with the business of the Pctono Technical School Board a(i its meeting last night, tho chairman (Mr. D. Jl'Konwe) welcomed Mr. W. B. Nicholson, a nyv member. Mr. Nicholson, in reply, thanked the chairman, and said lie had been one of the board's first members.
Tho death occurred on Monday of Mr. George Remington, who wis born in Wellington 67 years ago, mid had-lived here nearly all his life. After ho haU left school he was apprenticed to Mr. Laurie, plumber, and on receiving his indentures ho went to Australia tn gain further experience in the trade. He was employed t>y several large firms in Sydney and Melbourne, and in 1876 he returned to Wellington, and three years later he began business in Cuba Street. Later on he managed a plumbing shop in Mercer Street, ant) he then opened out again on his own account, remaining in business until failing health competed him to retire a few months back. Thirteen weeks ago he contracted. a severe chill whiie on a visit to Lyall Bay, and he was practically confined to his home in Mamma Crescent from that time until his death at 10 o'clock on Monday morning. Mr. Remington was a noted grower of roses and sweet .pen.s, and was one of the founders of the Wellington Rose and Carnation Club, and a prime moveV in the establishment of the-, roscry at Newtown Park. By h:s death the Wellington Bowling Club has lost one of its'earliest members ITe has left a widow—a. daughter of the lato Mr. Willinm H.. Randilll, a pioneer settler of Wellington.
