MISS LOUISE MACK
In the Concert Chamber of the Town Hull on Saturday evening, Jlifs Louise Mack, a lady journalist, who sewed in the war zone with the V.A.D., and also ncted us a war correspondent, gave another of, her interesting lectures to an appreciative audience. Hiss Mack was iu Antwerp nnd eaw the city before it was occupied by the Huns. She later went'to Brussels, which was then in the occupation of the Gorman.?, and spent what she horself describes as two unforgettable hours in the. company of Nurso Cavrf.l. Miss Mack has some droll stories to tell as well as many dramatic and tragic tales, and she tells them in a vivid manner, eo that one is almost able to picture the scenes and seo tho incidents as the lecturer saw them. Miss Mack gives her hearw-8 now impressions of the war period. She was within tho German lines, and hor first-hand information nf how liiP Oermnii- worked n"d behaved is very illuminating. And sho was a prisoner, for five days, but managed to escape. It was a thiilliiig experience, nnd the story as told by Miss Mack is instructive and entertaining. The lecturer had a good deal to say about Holland. A iniKion pcoplo Hung themselves into Holland, and h'ow the Dutch nian(irwl with this sudden increase of populiition was not the least interesting part of the lecture. Miss Mack dealt with many other phases of the- war, and lit the c'.oso of her lecturo exhibited some fine pictures on the Bcrecn. Another lecture, tbo last, ia announced for this evening.
