A House of Commons Select Committee, in addition to recommending r.n increase in the old-age pensions, favours this abolition, of the income barrier, invoking a further expenditure of ten millions. A minority report considers that the money would . be better spent in lowering the a.ra limit and further increasing the pensions, or raising Hie income barrier to correspond with the decreased value of money.—Aus.-N.Z.
