FARAIERS' HNION PROTESTS AG A INST RESTRICTIONS. By Telnuranh—Special Reporter. Palmerston North, November 6. At a largely attended'meetincr of the Farmers' Union at Palmerslon North fodnv the following resolution was carried: "That this executive is not satisfied with tho statement of the Board of Trade that boots in New Zealand are the cheapest in the world. Our information is quite lo the contrary. Tanners are exporting olhor than boot leather, and particularly hides, at half the price that farmers could get in open market. This execufive again prolesls against the continued restrictions upon tho sale of hides, whereby the value of stock in NcZealand is depreciating 'by at least a million."
