He. added: "Sand a cheque if you like to support the league of Nations, but for God's sake, boys, keep up your musketry practice." Replying to the toast of the "Overseas .Forces." General Sir John Monash said that the Dominions' war effort was the sreatest Imperial event of modern times. The very association of the. New Zealanders and Australians brought about a bond of comradeship which was not going tn-dic. The war bad been a wonderful exnerieneo for the dominions, despite their sufferings.
