HERTZOG AGAIN
A NTI-UIPJiIUATi ELECTION MANIFESTO. (Roc. November (i. 5.."; p.m.) Cape Town, November -5. General Hertrog has issued an election manifesto in which be accuses the Government of being inspired by a purely Imperialistic policy, which led to South Africa being oragged into the war, and making great sacrifices to benefit tho Emuire. If that policy continued it must lead to bankruptcy, if not to revolution. He characterises the Ministers as merelv British agents, and denounces Onernl Smuis's policy of closer union with the Empire as meaning either political and economic subjection or revolution. Hertzog rails on tho Afrikander people to co-operate in the defence of their fatherland's liberty, and frustrate Imperial policy. The motto must be': "South Africa firsl, and South Africa a.lwavs."~Aus.-N.7,. Cable Assn.
