Tho Department of Agriculture, Industries, and Commerce has received the following cablegram, dated November 1, from tho High Commissioner for Now Zealand, London:— i'Meat.—Following are wholesale prices: Beef, fores and hinds respectively, English Is. l}d., Is. -f-Jd.; imported from any country, IOJd., Is. lid. Mutton and lamb, English ls."3Sd.; imported Is. OJd. Pork, English Is. Id., imported Is. 2Jd. Imported beef livers, lfld. Tongues, Is. 2d. Tails, Is. Hearts, Bd. Kidneys and skirts, Is. Id. Sweetbread, Is. per lb. Mutton and lamb livers, Ib. Id. Tongues, lOd, Sweetbread, 2s. per lb. Kidneys, 2s. per dozen. Sheep and lamb hearts, 3s. 3d. to 3s, 9d, per dozen. "Butter.—Supply falls short of demand. Roceipts of Danish are about 10,000 casks per week, and last weok M 0 tons Siberian arrived. Further arrivals not (iipocrcd from tho same source. Argentine shipments up to the present very small, and Australian reports unfavourable. During last month rations per week have been restricted l<» loz. per head, and present prospects indicate it is likely to continue. "Cheese.—Prosent supplies meet requirements. British make large on nccount of fine weather and high retail prices. Milk consumption restricted, and surplus being made into cheese. Outlook for winter supplies good. "Hemp.—Manila market quiet, but firm. 'J' grade during this week, Octo-ber-December shipment, ; JanuaryMarch shipment, MS. Market closed firm more inquiry; October-December shipment, ,£'so; January-March shipment, MQ ss. New Zealand market quiet, with no alteration in prices. "Wool—Market continues active, and prices firm."
