EXPERIMENTAL FARMS
Again Mr. Craigie pressed his demand for an experimental farm in the South Island, asking a question in tho House of Ikspresentativcs yesterday morning. Ho said that establishment of -an experimental farm was one of the things most desired by the farmers of Canterbury, specially in. the wheat-growing area. The district was called the granary of New Zealand, and the tanners irishcd to have scientific assistance in such matters as analysis of soils, the us-e of fertiliser* and the raising of seeds. iNow tlmt the "Minister of Agriculture was, a £»nlerbmv man the people of the district looked forward to the project being sympathetically considered by.him.
Mr. Noswovthy said that the matter was under consideration. When ho had time to give to the business he would bo prepared to investigate the matter and to give it sympathetic consideration.
