SHAH OF PERSIA ENTERTAINED
AN UP-TO-DATE RULER. London, November 1. The Stale banquet to the Shah of Persia was a remarkable gathering. Among those present were Royalties, statesmen and their wives, soldiers, sailors, and other notables. Kins George, in a most cordial speech, said that the "relations .of Britain and Persia were closer than over before. The two nations were about to embark upon collaboration in the field of material and administrative progress, which would .ensure Persia u future not unworthy of its famous past. The Shall, speaking in- French, said: "The liberal institutions of the Brilish Empire have always exercised powerful attract ion upon me. One of the chiefobjects of my visit is lo personally study fhem.
