FATHER O'DONNELL'S ARREST
THE ALLEGED SEDITIOUS SPEECH

The formal charge against Father O'Donnell alleges Iha I: ho used traitorous and disloyal language when speaking in the presence uf a British officer at Killarncy. ITo is alleged to have said: "Tho time is coming, and that-very soon, when Ireland will strike out for herself and claim that glorious independenco so long dear I" every patriot's heart. Wo Australians fought, for independence, and- the right of self-government by small na-. lions, which is being denied to the finest, oldest, littlo country in tho world by a few servants of King George, who are filling their own pockets at the expense of the working people, and whoso' hands are red with the blood of the Irish patriots. O'Donnell continues: "The King and the Rovnl Family are'not a bit of use lo this or lo any other country. I had hones that the recent railway striko. was the commencement of a revolution ill England. The King, fearing llio same', commanded Sir. l/loyd. George to.sriiiash it with a firm hand."
Tho eharec adds that O'Donnell further stated that he h.ul great sympathy willi the Sinn Fein which exists in Australia, and he would do what was rossihlo to advance the cause.—United' Service.
