On Tuesday friction between the directors and the manager (G. S. Thomson) resulted iu ihe. dismissal of Ihe latter, who then dismissed tho employees for tho day, claiming the exercise of his authority as general manager. On the employees assembling on 'Wednesday Thomson dismissed them till the beginning of next iveek. and as the result of an address by Thomson outside the factory this Siqrning the workers dispersed, no work being done. The directors will give tho workers an opportunity of resuming tomorrow.
