JOY-RIDING

A WAKNING TO TAXt-DEIVEKS. A' taxi-driver appeared before the 'City Council last evening to show cause why his license should not be cancelled. The uolice report on the man's conduct disclosed very unsavoury particulars as to nijihi joy-riding. The driver in question testified that ho had taken over his "fares" from another driver (whose name was given), and he thought they should have the other taxi-driver before them. The whole matter of the taxi business was one that should be gone into. It was the source of a good deal of trouble, and he. for one, would like lo see it rleaned ui>. The case was referred back lo the committee for further investigation.
