MONTHLY MEETING Tho Land Board continued its meeting yesterday, and dealt with the following business:— E. A. Smith applied for timber-split-tinrr riirhls ou Crown land near Owhango. —Refused. .1. H. Jlitchius intimated that he did not intend to proceed with his application for section SG, suburbs of Ruetihi, •1 acres— Application declared lapsed. J?. !•'. Dalton intimated that owing to a prior prospect materialising he was unable to complete his application for section 1. Kairanga Settlement.—Application declared lapsed.

The ciuestinn of dealing with sections 3R and 34. Mawaihakena, was considered.— It was resolved that they he offered for dale bv public auction for cash at upset prices of XI2C and JJI3O respectively. Itenreseu'Utions that tho Omatane Block, in Block I\ r , Hautnpu S.T)., should bo opened for selection by discharued soldiers were considered.—lt was decided that the land in question should bo retained on account of the valuable milliiia timber it contains, which should ho dealt with before the land is disposed

The Commissioner reported that A. W. Milne had not completed his application for section Is, AVaddington Settlement.— Application declared lapsed. Crawford ' and' Adams stated tha-t thev wore unable to retain section 1, Block XtA r . Itetaruke S.l).—Application declared lapsed. Victor Shore applied for half an acre or section 8. Block XI I, Kniticke S.D., as a site for buildings, sheep yards, etcItefused. ~, „ „ , N A. Edger applied for firewoodcutting* rights over land near Pokako railway station—Befused. Bush to ba withheld for millingA. V. Smith renewed his application for firewood-cutting rights on the milled out portion of Messrs. Knight firor milling area near Ohakune (sections 3 and 4. Block VII, Makotuku S.D.) -It was resolved to grant the application at rates of royalty to be fixed by the Commissioner. No timber suitable for fenoinc material to be used. Permit to bo subject to determination on one month's notice. Lawrence O'Brien applied for a live Tears' leaso over sections 1 to 12, Block I, Maiieawcka South Township, at a rental of £1 ner annum.-Granted. Stevens, Henderson and Co. applied for n milling license over tho portion of section 7, Block 11, Hnnua 5.1)., that is not included in their existing license, but which was reserved for their fntur» use on Mnv 31.-1917.—Granted for three years from April 1, 1930, at royalties and terms of payment to bo fixed by the Commissioner. Timber to bo appraised.
