Six games of the small billiard-table owners' competition . were 'played last evening" at the showrooms of Messrs. Aleock and (,'o., and tome very fine play v.-as witnessed. Tile games were of 200 up, and i;i the first, which was between 11. S. Gilbert! and K. Ingley, the scoring was very close throughout, and finally Gilberd reached his 201) maik while Ingley was at 1!) G. In tlio second gamo I. In cloy v. I l '. R. Porleous, tlio former played, very well, and made a good break of G2 and ono of 27. whilo Pwteous rondo ono of '2t. At .the end of Hie game tlif; scores were: Inglev. 200; Porteous, 113, P. Reads owl JL Porter were the next two to play, and ill this the latter went, out while Read" was n'l 137. The best breaks were: Rftadc, 20; Porter, 20, 2?, 32. The three last games of the evening were: A. Jenninjjo v. L. TFolcroft. J. Brackcnbridgo v. G. Ingley, Gilberd v. I. Tngley. The play in these games was s.lso vary good, the victors beinb Holcroft, Brackenbridge, and I. In?ley. The "awes for this c-ening are:—" n.m.: Sadd v. Keane and Guinness v. W. H. Tucker; fltp.m: Dphani v. Icfrlesden and Goldie v. Third; fl p.m.: Jolly-v. Jackson and Morse v. Pythian.
