ANNUAL MEETING. (Special Correspondent.) There was a record attendanco at tho annual meeting of tho Wairarapa Automobile Association, held i n Featherslon on Friday last, Mr. Martin Elgar (president) presiding. Tho election' of ofticM9 resulted:—Paliron, Hon, Sir Walter Buchanan, M.L.0.; president, Mr, Martin liilgar.; vice-presidents, Messrs. W. Howard Booth,'H. A. Bunny (Carterton), W. Benton (Featherston) and D. Smith (Mastcrton); .treasurer. Mr. A. C. Holm-;; secretary, Mr. I. V." Wilson; auditor, Mr. J. If. G. M'Kenzie, F.1.A., N.Z.; committee, Messrs. H. E. Jackson, A. F. Hogg, H. M. Tnipp, ]?. C. Bunny (Carterton),' A. C. Pearce J. C. Bidwill, H. H. Stewart. 0. J. Carlyon, M. H. Kendall (Feather, ston), W. A. Huttion, F. ,T.%White (Greytown), K. il'Bcau Stewart,-D. B. Carrick, and J. H. Naylor (Masterton). The annual report revealed a very satisfactory position, ,£153 ss. 'Id. standing, do credit apart/from cash balance. Tin) membership lias steadily increased. The annual meeting of tho insurance company was' held on the saiuo evening, Mr. El«ar (a director) being in the chair. It was shown that the surplus of assets over liabilities totalled £118 Bs. id.. 128 card being insured to the extent of Messrs. A. F. Hogg, C. J. Carlyon, F. C Bunny, and M. (re-elected), will with Mr. W. A. Hutton constitute tho directorate. Mr. A. C. Holms was. reelected as treasurer," and Mr. I. V. Wilson elected, as secretary., It was resolved that the matter of entering upon thirdparty or comprehensive insurance risks bo considered by the directors. At tho conclusion of. the business advantage was taken of the presence of Mr. A. J. Toogood, J.P.. a former officer, Ira make a presentation on behalf of a number of friends' within the ranks of the association, the Wairarapa Bating Club, and Fcatherston Golf Club. In the unavoid. able absonco of the Mayor (Mr. J, W. Card) tho Deputy-Mayor .(Mr. A. C., Holms) presided, and following upon lau. datory speeches from Messrs. M, Elgar (president, W.A.A.),, Q. Donald (a vicepresident of the Eaeing Club) and Rev. J. G. S. Bartlett (a Tiee-president of the Golf Club) handed the guest) of the evening tangible- tokens of esteem for himself and Mrs. Toogood, paying" a high tribute to both as to the part'they had played in connection with the social w6l--of tho community. Tho health of Mr. and Mrs. Toogood was enthusiastically toasted.
