THE COAL DISPUTE
INTERFERENCE FROM AUSTRALIA
MR. MASSEY MOVING AGAIN
The cabled report thnt the Australian coal minors are moving with the object j of checking export of coal to New Zealand during the continuance of the mining dispute in thrs country was mentioned in the House of Representatives yesterday by Mr. E. Sample (Wellington South), who asked the frime Minister if .ho would make another effort to bring the parties together with the object of ending the trouble. Mr. Semple said he quito understood that Mr. Ma6soy had already made an effort, bu.t in view of the trouble extending to Australia and the serious position thus created, further action seemed desirable'. The Prime Minister, in reply, said he was agniu in communication with the parties to the dispute. The matter unfortunately was of more importance to the great third party, the people of New Zealand, than it was to cither the miners or the mine owners, lie was doing his best to bring about a satisfactory arrangement.
