"Would the Primd Minister give an Vsurance that the Labour organisations would elect their own representative or representatives. The Prime Minister replied that he did not know if the conference was being jjonc on with. Ho was inclined |o think, although ho had no oflioi.il information, that on account of the illness of President Wilson and the complications in Europe the conference had been postponed. Ho had not received any implications from tho Labour organisation* to appoint a delegate or delegates; He had received a letter on the milijrol:, and a question had been asked previously in tile House. He would 1» gfncl to look into the innlle-r mid to cable to the Imperial authorities for information about the conference. Mr. Holland: And in the event of the conference being held, will the Labour organisations have the right to select their own repiwentnt'ves? Mr. Mareey: T shall have to comply with tho provisions'of the Fence Treaty, and I am not sure what those provisions are. 1 am not sure if the Government has the right to apooint labour representatives or if tho Inbonr organisations have the Tight. Mr. Holland: Thev will not bo La tour representatives if the Government appoints them. . Mr.. M.wey: New Zealand will have the right to send four delegates.
