WAIRARAPA The first consignment of wool for this season—twenty bales from Sir Waller Buclianan's Tnpuriun station—was raiied fiom Carterton to Wellington on Saturday. The final of tho senior championship of the Mastorton Golf Club, played over 3'j holes, ivas won by W. 11. liobieeon, who beat B. Perry by 2 up awl 1 to play, after nil interesting and closo game. A gale was blowing, but both ptayors save a good exhibition of golf. In the bogey handicap competition C. Perry (handicap 1) and J. G. Bee, (handicap 8) t'wl with 2 down. In the eoniifinal for the ladies junior championship, Miss Alnm Perry beat Miss D. Vile and Mi<s Aclip.son beat Sirs. 51' Loan.

The death occurred at Hukanui on Saturday of Sirs. Mary Foss, relict of the late Mr. Samuel Foss, and ail old resident of the Wairarapa. Tho deceased, who was about 70 years of age, came to New Zealand many years ago. She resided at Clareville for sonio time, lier husband being one of the first managers of tho Taratahi Dairy Company's factory.
