Interviewed to-night, Sir James Allen said lie thought the sesion would finish at the end of this month, and the general election be held the first week in Deeemljer. He prophesied a Government victory. He considered the Reform Party had been gaining ground both in the North and the South Islands. _ He was asked if any Government candidates had been selected yet for the Christchurch seats, but replied that tho Government did not appear to be too popular in this city.
