The Austrian Cabiuct resigned after ratification of the Peace Treaty, but was re-eiecled by the National Assembly, with Dr. Ren.ner as State Chancellor.—Aus.N.Z. Cable Assn. AMERICAN SENATE VOTING-. Washington, October 17. 'Iho Senate rejected tile remaining Full amendments to the Peace Treaty, without a division. There are now six Republican Senators opposed to Senator Johnston's amendment, providing for equal votes by Great Britain and the United Statos in tho League of Nations. It is expected that the iynendment will be defeated by two votes.—Aus.-N.Z. Cablo Assn. GERMANY ACCEPTS POLISH TREATY. - Berlin, October 17. The German Parliament has accepted the 'Polish Troaty—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. Senator Walsh, during a Seriate debate, in the course, of a speech, said that lie hoped that Ireland, through United States intercession mig?.t at least have a hearing before the League of Nations. .Such intercession would bo. permitted under Article XI of the Covenant. "The •' Times" Vienna correspondent states that it is reported in financial circles that an American banking syndicate's negotiations for a largo ioau for Austria, are nearly finished.
