London headquarter* of the .Navy League have circularised branches askihg that "Nelson Day".this year shall-be specially celebrated. rhe Wellington branch has accordingly made mntablo arrangements for the purpose. Tho citizens are invited to assist by making .a good display of bunting on luesdav next when the Amokura boys will parade, and a band vvill render pntriptie-.-fiel«ftion« during Hio afternoon.... Tbo Wellington College Cadets will parade at the- oolleje grounds at noon,, when-Colonel Campbell will present a Mew Zealand ensign to the'principal, Mr. J. P. Firth, on bes half of the Wellington branch of the Navy League. Members of: tho ftvy Eeague and the general public <-re invited to be present at the ceremony. _ In tho ovoning, at 8, a-gathering wall be held in the hi* Town Hall, when on attractive musical programme will bo presented. Their Excellencies lie Gover-nor-General'imd tho Countess of Liverpool have signified their intention to bo prosent. Tho speakers ■ will bo Mr. Justice Hiking «U Mr.- fP, Firth. This evening a lantern lecturo will bo delivered by Mr. Wobert Darroch, lion, serovetary of the league, at the Maeonic Ilall, Bcrhampore, ai'if! the chairman of tho Education Committee will present rin ensign to tho 6diolars of the Britomart Street School, over ono hundred having enrolled as members of the league.
