Tho president (Mr. P. J. Evans) presided over a well-attended meeting of the Lyall Bay Municipal Electors' Association - which was held last ovening.
Trams bulked largely in. a discussion, in the course of which the secretary (Mr, R. Lcslio Jones) suggested that the tramway management committee should bo asked to arrnngc for the cars runnina to the Kilbirnio boundary to be run so as to alternate as far as the last loop on Onepu Road down to the beach. Mr. Leuchars suggested, with a view to securing an earlior service on Sundays, thai) the oar which leaves Courtenay Place at 12.50 p.m. and runs to lCilbirnie, should continue on and complete tho run to Lyall Bay. At present the first afternoon car leaves for Lyall Bay ab 1.10 p.m. Touching on the resources of the Hay as a pleasure resort, Mr. A. C. A member of the audience said that during the day a. large number of cars were lving idle in the shelter sheds at Kewtown. If a properlv-sheltered playground was provided at the Bay and more cars run out to the resort during slaok hours, largo numbers of ladies would make use of the Bay even in fairly boisterous weather. Tho whole of the suggestions were referred to tho tramway committee of tlio association. Mr. A. M.
