« rA PLETHORA OF PARTIES. Sydney, October lfi. At both the Federal and State elect;oils there will be a plethora of parlies. Those in the Federal elections include Nationalists, Lalwu.r, Country and Industrial, and Socialist. Labour, and for die State, the abovenamed four, and also the Progressives, and the Roman Catholic, or Democratic Party. The issues generally will be very mixed. It is understood that a number of both Federal and State Nationalists are not seeking reelection—Press Assn.
QUEENSLAND, PREMIER RESIGNS
HIS SEAT. (Rec. October 16, 10.45 p.m.) Brisbane, October 16. Mr. Ryan has resigned his seat in tin' Queensland Parliament preparatory to contesting a Federal seat. In the meantime he will continue to hold the Premier's office.—Press Assn.
