STREET ACCIDENT

TRAMCAR AND MOTOR-LORBY COLLIDE. A collision between a tramcar and a niotowvason occurred on Lambton Quay yesterday morning. Tramcar No. 112, (liiven by Motoroiun Samuel Morris, was proceeding from the direction of Lambton Station, bound for Kilbimie, nnd when oppas'te the Central Hotel it cairie into violent collision with a , ■grocery-laden molor-lorry driven by Arthur Turnbnll. It appears that Mr. TumbuU's lorry was aliout to cut neross t:ho road towards ]''eatlie-rston Street, end ns it tunifxl the tram collided with it. The contents of the lorry wo,Te scattered broadcast, and tho lorry was badly smashed. Mr. Turnbull had n miraculous escape from ewions "jnjur}-, as the tram struck the vehicle in the vicinity of the driver's seat. His injuries consisted solely of n cut over the right eye and a few bruise.". Portion of the. glass-work in front of the tramcar was brolcen. and Motorman Mort'e wae cut about the hands.

The motor-lorry belonged to Mr. J. F. Tiirnbull, grocer, of Adelaide Road. The oententa, which included a. large nnmber of eggs, were considerably damaged.
