THE INQUIRY INTO MR. GRAHAME A LITTLE MATTER OP £1000 By Telegraph—Frees Asooclatlon—Conyrieht (Rec. October It, 9.30 p.m.) ;" Sydney, October 11. ' At the Wheat Inquiry, in connection with tho evidence regarding the financial position of Mr. Grnhame, Minister for Agriculture, the question of tho payment of a large sum of money for a lease of the, Kensington racecourse cropped up. Mr. Griffiths, who was Minister for Works.ftif the time of the lease, in evidence said that according to tho stories then current ono or two thousand pounds, allegedly from the racecourse people, had, through Gralmnie. the Party Whip, bsen handed to Mr. Holman for the party funds. Mr. Griffiths saw Mr. Holman and hoisted that the money should be returned, or be would leave the Cabinet. Mr. Holman in evidence said that Mr. Grahame had handed him an envelope containing ,£IOOO for party funds. He did not know from what source- it came. Th» matter was reported to Cabinet, and after inquiry, it wa3 decided not to accept the money, which was returned.—Press Assn.
