BOWLS
THE JOHNSONVILLE CLUB. Tho president of the club, Mr. H. E. Harrap, officially opened tho Johnsonville bowling green on Saturday in the presence of a largo gathering.' Mr.,Harrap referred to tho victorious ending of the war and extended a special welcome to the returned soldier'members of the club. He congratulated tho club upon their bowling successes Inst season, and referred particularly to tho winning of tho B Pennant of the Wellington Centre. He directed attention to the banner the club was flying consequent upon this victory. Mr. Harrap feelingly referred to the deaths of Mr. Macgregor, of tho Ordnance Corps, who hail played with tho club last season, and to that of the .veteran bowler Mr. Charles Hill, and extended the club's sympathy to the respective families. Miss O'Neill . was culled,upon by the president to bowl-the Kitty, and tho green was declared open for play.- Before the'games started Mr. Harrap presented to Mr. D. M. Orr a pair of mwls os a trophy for his win. in tho club's championship and congratulated him upon his success. Mr. Orr duly returned thanks for the prize. Rinks were selected and play ensued for the remainder of the afternoon.
