The sales of hide and talloiv ivere held on "Friday by the various brokers. Mcssi-b. Dalgety and Company report that very large accumulations were catalogued. Heavy - hides .maintained recent values, hut licclit hides, particularly cows under 421b., showed a considerable advance, realising up too lid. Yearlings also showed a marked rise, and some of the inferior calfskins offered realised more than schedule rates i for super, although tho schedulo had,been increased Id. rer lb. These, on being Eu'oniittea at auction, made exceptional prices, reaching 6d. per lb. over scheduled rates for sound calf. Yearlings and kips also brought high figures, in some eases being more than double the scheduled prices. Top values were obtained in most of the gradeß offered, and the catalogue as a whole Bold at exceptional figures for the 50 per cent, allowed to go to auction. The Wairarapa Fanners' Co-operative Association, Ltd., in which is incorporated tho United Farmers' Co-operative .■ssociation, report that, compared with last sale, held on August 15, heavy and medium ox hides were higner by id. to id. per II).
