CHARGE OF MANSLAUGHTER AT BLENHEIM
■ HOTELICEEPER ARRESTED. ■ The police have received advice or a fatality involving a charge of manslaughter which occurred at Blenheim on Saturday evening. It appears (hat about 9 o'clock d llaxmill hand named George O'Lcary and his brother and others were in the Wairau Valley Hotel, near Blenheim. George O'Lcary had an altercation with the licensee, Charles Albert Gasse, in the parlour. In the course of this the licensee, it is is nllged, struck O'Lcary with his fists, causing him to fall, and, it is surmised, str.ike his head 011 the eclpe of a seat. O'Lcary collapsed and died, and Gasse was subsequently arrested on a chargo of manslaughter.
