Bonds (1929) ... - 98 0 0 CUSTOMS REVENUE. Customs revenue collected at the port of Wellington yesterday amounted to £3665 3s. sd. • HIDES AND TALLOW. Tho New Zealand Farmers' Co-op. Distributing Co., Ltd., report as under:— Hides.—After a delay of some two months the-auotiona were again resumed yesterday. According to arrangements made by the Board of Trado, tanners wero permitted to select for their requirements 60 per cent, of any of the lots as far as hides wore c&nceriud, and the whole of the' calfskins in most cases. Tanners availed themselves of the full 'opportunities given them to obtain both rides and calfskins at tho Qoverumont schedule rates, the balance of tho catalogues being subsequently submitted to. unction. For this competition was excited, and very keen competition,on the j-art cf exporters, and all lines .were cleared at very , considerable advances on the Government schedule of prices. In the case of some ox hides sold under tho Government schedule at lid., aB much as Ib. lOd. was. obtained in auction .for export purposes. Calfskins were also in very keen 'request, many of the cut and Blippy lines realising as much or more than the sound lines, which were taken by tanners at the Government schedule. i Tallo.v.—Buyers: were well represented, and competition Jwas fairly keen. 'Kost of the catalogues were cleared'at fairly high rates, eomparod with those ruling at the last auction held. TALLOW. Messrs. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., received the following cablegram from their London office yesterday;—'"Tallow market firmer, especially for medium and inferior qualities. There is 110 demand for mutton. On April 5 it was reduced to 5 ier cent., at which figure it has sinco stood. OPEN MARKET RATES. The open market discount rate for three months bills is 45 per cent, as compared
