Lawson (Premier of Victoria) promised to cable to tlio Now Zealand Government and to approach the Commonwealth Government. A boot manufacturer stated that he had goo_ds to the value of t lil2,oCo awaiting shipment, and orders to the value of .£30,000 which he was unable to execute because the lack of shipping.—Press Assn.
