Messrs. Dalgety and Company, Limited, report having held a successful cleariln; 6ale of dairy stock, etc.. on account ot Mr. J. T. -Singer, To lloro, on Thursday. Mr. Singer's cows were recognised as being a good herd, and although the condition ot the stock was not of the best, still a satisfactory sale of the grade cows resulted, prices being as under—Cows, October calvors, from £15 10s. to £25; cows in milk, from £8 10s. to £13. Although a number of purebred Shorthorn -bilking -cows were offered, competition for this claßß of stock was not animated, and most of the iotß offered failed to reach .vendor's idea of value. Purebred Shorthorn bulls made frorii 20 to 22Jgns.; purebred Shorthorn cows from £20 to £23 10s.; dry cows, £6 Its. to £B 10s.; yearling heifers, from £5 10s, to £6 15s.

Yearling steers, £3 16s. to £4 9b.; heifers, £4 to £4 165.; 18-month Btecrß, £5 10s.; 2-year-old empty heifers. £6 12a. 6d. to £7 Vs. 6d.; smaller do.. £o Is.; forward cows, £10 17b.; more do., £i,lt's. 10 £7 Lin. There was a strong local demand for dairy heifers, those oit'ermg being most small two-year-olds. Forward Boris made £13 ltis. to £17 10s.; others, £-3 llis. to £11; dairy cows, £10 to £14 10s.
At Kaponga, on the same day there was an average yarding.. iearhng Jieit'ers (small), £2 10s. to £i 10s.; steers, £5 175.; 15-mouth heircrs, £6 to £5 I#.; 2-yeur-oid empty do., ±4 lis. to £7 18s.; store cows, £6 to £8 18s.; oulls, £9 to £11. In the dairy pena cattle showing quality sold well. Oalved cows, £14 10s. to £21; springing cows, £14 IDs. to £22 10s.; . later sons, £9 to £12;. lieifors, £11 to '£17 lus.; small do., £7 lus. to £9.

Heat springing heifers, jpl4 los. to £24 55.; others, £11 to £13 55.; interior sorts, £5 to £9 155.; dairy cows, £15 10s. to £20. l'lto Wairarapa Farmers' Co-operative Association, Ltd., tlaniievirke, report 011 the undermentioned sales as follows :-At falaramoa 011 October 1 wc held a clearing sale of dairy stock, implements, hud sundries on account of Mr. h. Adams, who has sold his farm. There was keen inquiry for the dairy cows, which were practically all m.proiit and in moderate condition, prices ranging from £13 10s. to £27 10s., the herd of 34 head averaging ±20 per head, which must be considered highly satisfactory. Other principal sales "were: Milk cart horse (ag«di, £29; 1 do £17 10s.; yearling' heifors, £4 75.; 2 bulls' £8; h.f. lioggets, £1 10s.; weaner pigs' 355. 6d. a breeding sows, £6 to £8 5s • milk cans, £2 to £3 75.; Cambridge roller'. £20; s.f. It. and G. plough, £17; mill; cart, £21 Ids.
At Danncvirkc' on October J. at the weekly sale, we offered a full yarding of sheep, chiefly hoggota, included in which were some exceptionally line lines, ex Tiratu, which commanded keen competition throughout, with the result that priccs all round showed a good rise on leccnt EttlcH reports. We yarded about 3250 Bhecp of all sorts, and were successful in clearing every lot. Cattle sold on a par with late sales. We report the following sales; 537 wether hoggets, ife Bd.; £>B ewe do., 345.; 206 wether do.. 345. fid.; 313 m.s. do., 325.; 618 h.f. hoggets (good), 275., 30b. 6(1., to Jls. 6d.; 23 m.s. hoggets, to 3Cs.; 5 ewes and lambs, 325. 6d.; tei aged empty ewea (lots), 19;).. 205., 20b. fd., to 21b.; 12 small yearling steers, £3 to £3 10s.; 6 springing heifers to £7 55.; 2 bulls, to i>l 55.; 4 Highland bulls, to £4; 3 Highland cows and calves, to £7 10s.
The Akitio harbour scheme was discussed by a meeting of reprcfentative men at Pongaroa. After discussion it was finally agreed that a survey for a port should bo obtained from a marine engineer, and a committee was sot tip to further the projoct.
