WEATHER "PROPHETS" IN CONFERENCE
EMPIRE METEOROLOGICAL CONGRESS. (Rec. October 3, 0.15 a.m.) London, October 1. An Empire conference of meteorologists is being held at the Air Ministry. Mr. 11. A. Hunt represents Australia and Mr. D. C. Dates New Zealand. The conference considered the selection of the most suitable world-wide stations for the general study of climatology, and discussed n 6cheme for wireless transmission of meteorological information'covering Europe, the Mediterranean, and North Africa. It is suggested that eimflai? schemes should be adopted in the Do-\ minions; Mr. Bates moved, and it was' unanimously carried, to establish a permanent Empire Association. Mr. Napier Shaw was. elected president. The Air Ministry hopes that the conference will result in a coinplote cooperation of the Empire's meteorological organisations, which aro particularly important in view of the development of the. great) aerial routes leading to distant' parte of tho Empire.
