One was committed to Weraroa Training Farm nnd the others wore ordered to come up to be dealt with when called upon, and in addition to report weekly lo the! probation officer for two vears and attend no picture shows. Air.- S. G. M'Cartlliy, S.M., speaking of the causes of juvenile crime in the city, said that one cause that was pre-eminent was the absence of parental control. Some children were allowed to do pretty much as theyl njeased. their parents being far too indulgent. Ho had lio doubt that if .a »ood example were set by parents it would have. a beneficial effect on • the children. Lack of good home training' was the cause of a lot of the juvenile crimes committed. He also believed that children should not be allowed to go to picture shows so much as they were. Some of Iho films displayed were not fit for children, and a good many simply showed an intelligent child -'how to commit a crime. This was the reason he would not allow the boys before him to visit picture shows. f '
