— r« PORT NICHOLSON CLUB'S ANNUAL ■ ' MEETING. The annual meeting of tho Port Nicholson Yacht Club was held at tho Boat Harbour. Mr. W. Duncan, commodore, presided. In moving the adoptien of the annual report and balance-sheet, Mr. Duncan said that'members were to bo. congratulated on the splendid position of tho club. Notwithstanding the influenza ' epidemic, and tlia_i'nct that many members were still absent on active service, the post season Was one .of the most successful in tho history of tho e.ub. ' Tho achievement of a club house—long tho aim of the chili—was now on the point of realisation./' Ho was able to congratulate Mr. J. E. Cull tfor winning the. aggregate points for first-class yachts With his yacht- Kotiri 11, and Messrs; Scott and Jordan for winning the second-cSass points •in the Galatea. He expressed his gratification that a new yacht club has been formed in Evans Bay. • The big race of • lastUeason was for the Mills Cup. This was the'second annual race for this hand-, some cup,, and was won by Mr. E. Bucholz's yacht Wairere 11.. The ocean lace to Port Underwood and back was a most enjoyable fixture last season, and Messrs. Hamil Bros;, who had just returned from the front, wore the winners in their , yacht Ailsa'. The veterans' race was won by v .-Captain. Dawson, the harbourmaster, I who had> proved his skill in handling small boats as'well as large ones. . The ladies' race .was a popular fixture, and was won by Messrs.-Scott and Jordan's GalateaJiskippered by Mrs. B-. Milnian. He recommended that the incoming committee procure an Honour Roll'as a permanentrecord of. those membcips who had , sewed 'in .the; war, .and particularly to keep arecord'of. those wholiad.'in paying the greatest sacrifice, addod to the laurels of the cliib.
