OBITUARY

I'KANK LAVEE, CRICKETER. Melbourne, September 25. Obituary.—Frank Laver, cricketer.— Press Assn. Laver was one of the best nil-round cricketers that Australia has produced. At one time he had the record ecoro in club cricket in Australia—lls2, not out, in a' match in 1593, "laying for East Melbourne against St. Kilda. Ho was a member of threo of the Australian teams which visited England in 1599, 1905, <uid IDO'J: Laver was a reliable batsman nt a pinch, and a brilliant field at point, and, moreover, was the type of man who did much to play the game in its best and most sportsmanlike spirit. Laver was almost 50 years of aige, having been born on December 7, ISGS.
