CHINA AT PEACE WITH GERMANY

PRESIDENTIAL MANDATE. (Rec. September 25, 10.15 p.m.) Poking, September 24. Parliament having; agreed that , the war between China and Germany should be ended, a Presidential mandate has been issued reading: "Although, owing to our disapproval in regard to the Shantung settlement, we refused to eign the Treaty with Germany, yet we recognise all other articles of Hie Treaty. The state of war between China and Germany has ended. We shall consequently regard ourselves in the same position as our Allies."

General'Tunn Chijni, former Premier, wlio was responsible for China's declaration of war, lias received the Grand Order of Merit.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
