PARLIAMENT
- The Legislative Council met for a few minutes yesterday ..afternoon, but had no busiiiess before it. The Hon. Sir Francis Bell said it was hoped that the Statutes ~ Revision Committee would bo able to-day 'to report the Board ot Trade. Bill. This Bill was of sufficient importance to occupy the Council for some time. : •
The Council adjourned at 2.30 p.m,
The House of Representatives met at 2.30 p.m. Mr. C. A. Wilkinson, (Bgmont) gave notice of the Counties Amendment Bill.
Dr. H. T. J. Thacker (Christchurch East) gave notice of the Victory Park Bill.. «
The Coal Mines Amendment Bill, tlie Mining Amendment Bill, the Prisons Amendment Bill, the Public Trust Office Amendment Bill, tlie New Zealand TJnivcrsity' Amendment Bill, the Education Amendment Bill, and the Police Force Amendment Bill were introduced by Messago from the Governor-General and read a first time.
The Prime Minister moved that on and after Monday next, and for the remainder of tlie session, tlio House meet on Mondays at 7.30 p.m. for the transaction of Government business only. Ho eaid the first Monday evenintr would be given to private members' Bills.' The motion was carried.
