At, an informal gathering in tho Mavor's room to-day the Deputy-Mayor welcomed the delegates of. the council of tho Dominion of New Zealand Bowling Association, who aro meeting in Ghnstchuvch. ' ~ The council met this afternoon, the principal subject of discuw on being tho question of arrangements for tho Jjouiniion tournament to be held in Christchurch in Januaiy next. He moved that a reply be sent thanking the South African Association, but that conditions f.t present were unfavourable to accepting the invitation, and that if it were possible to alter the date to 1921 there would bo a better chance of New Zealand being represented. ■ | .The motion was agreed to. It was decided to invent <6160 of ths association's funds, in Government War Loan Certificates. It was decided that members of the council resident in Christchurch should constitute the executive. Mr. Gray moved. that »ho Tiues bo amended to provide that tho headquarters of the association' be permanently situated in Wellington. _ In the course of discussion, Mr. Nicholson (Dunedin) said that if the hoadmiarter« werp fixed at "Welling ;on it woulo: do the beginning of the end of the Dominion of New Zealand Bowling Association. Mr. Bush moved an amendment that the ouestion be . remitted lo a meeting of renresentatives from each centre, to be hold during the. tournament. ? The amendment was negatived by 7 votes to-5, and the motion was lost on the voices. . Mr. Gray moved a serifs of alterations to the rules to provide that members of the council shall be elected by their respective -centres.
