There was a. good attendance of shareholders at the annual general meetiiiß of the Paraparaurnu Co-operative llairy Co. Mr./L. ,1. Howell (chairman of directors) presided. The statement of sales and expenses was presented. Tho sales of cheese and cream totalled over £7000, an advance of over AIOOO on the previous year. Aii unexpected iteni on the expenditure side was tho amount of JSls9i income tax, which the Government had levied on the association for 'the year 1917-18, and it was reported that a further amount would ho payable on last year's operations. The balance due to suppliers shown on the balaiicusheet of the 1917-18 season was "just over Mm, and it was on this amounl that the tax of ,£159 was levied. Tho retiring directors were Messrs. G. Hillas, W. Jluffey, and S. Attenborrow, none of ■ irhoni sought re-election. Messrs S. Cummins, i\ Beckett, J. 11, Euucklc/und J. P. fortune were nominated for the vacancies, and tho first three wern elected. Mr. L.-I. It was decided that it bo a recommendation to tho Dairy Association to ask for not less than 2d:. per gallon net at Welliugtou over tho factory prices for milk supplied 'to town in the autumn jiuonths. Another 'recommendation to tho directors of the Wellington Association was: "That the City Council Milk Depot be asked to supply a monthly detailed record of each day's supply." Mr. L. I. Howell referred to , the prospects for tho present season, and stated thai'.in all probability at the flush of the seuson it would, not be posdtblo to nialite ifll milk into telieeso with the present plant, and estimated improvements and additions, to the value of at least .GIOOO would need to bo made to the factory, which, was oven now too small for this rapidly-growing district. There would be somewhere near 200 additional tows milked in the district , llvs year. Intending exhibitors- in tho horse section at the Hawke's Bay A. and P. Society's Spring Show will bo interested to learn that it has been decided at the request of owners to judge all entires on the second morning of' the show. This alteration ehou'.d bo 'appreciated by exhibitors, more especially in the draught horso section, us it wiM enable them to devote all their time on the iirst day to their otlier exhibits, whereas in tho past a great deal .of tho time has been taken up with the entires. Should exhibitors wish to parade their stallions for exhibition on tho first day of the ehow they Per Maiheno, Messrs. Murray, Roberts,, and Co,, Ltd., shipped tho very nice yearling Hereford bull Beresford, bred by Mr. Frank Moore, of "Bushy Park/' Kai Iwi.
