Paris, September 20 When the officials entered Lenoir's cell early in the morning to prepare him for execution, they found him . dressing. When asked if he had any statement fo make,-he declared: "Before God and man I am innocent of treason." Lenoir protested against the refusal to confront him with Caillaux, saying the latter had used- him as a tool. He mado other allegations against Caillaux, and • the statement was conveyed to ,11. Poincaro and M. Clemenceau, with the result that Lenoir was temporarily re-prieved.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
