BOWLERS V. NON-BOWLERS. The Wellington Chess Club's annual match, Bowlers v. Non-Jiowlere, which was commenced on Saturday evening, promises to be a .most enjoyable contest. Eighty players havo been paired in,advance, and they are being allowed a fortnight in which to complete'their respective fixtures. ; Thirteen gmnes were disposed of on Saturday 'evening, of which the bowlere won eight and lost iivo. They are, therefore, "lying three" at present. A very close finish is being looked for. _ LOCAL TOURNAJEENTS. Members aro looking forward to their annual shield match ' against the Watoreiders' Club, which is scheduled to take place nest month. Tlio watersiders at present hold the shield, haying regained it from the Working Men s Club in last year's match.
