RETURNING TROOPS
TWO MORE TRANSPORTS LEAVE ENGLAND. " Two additional transports have left the United Kingdom with troops for New Zealand. These are:— Remuera {R.D. No. 289}.—Left September 12; due Auckland about October 26. Draft comprises C 25 troops, 81 women, and 24 children. Faparoa (R.D. No. 290}.—Left September 13: duo Wellington about October 27. Draft comprises 248 troops, 187 women, and 66 children. A oablo message received states that the Cordoba (R.D. No.' 278) will reach Wellington about September 30 from Freumntle. Her draft comprises 656 troops. ' Information about the probable date of arrival of the transport Cordoba was given by the Minister of Defence in the House of Representatives ytsterday in reply to a question from Sir, Semplc. Mr. Somple said that the Cordoba was due in Wellington at the end of last month, and the delay was causing some nrxiety. Sir .Tames Allen said that the officer :n com- I marid of the troops on board the ship had telegraphed from Fremantle thr.t he had arrived in that port on September 15, and that he hoped to pvrivo in Wellington on September 110.
