THE SENIOR CADETS

TROPHIES PRESENTED. . At' tins Wellington' South School a presentation was recently made of niuskotry trophies and badges won during the past year by members of 3940 th Company (South Wellington) Senior Cadets. Lieutenant AY. J. Christophersen and about 100 members of the company were on parade. Mrs. Lowe, mother of one of the Cadets and donor of t. silver inkstand trophy for the best rifle shot under sixteen, made the- presentations. Cadet d. AVarwjck, who, in the competition for user's of .22 ammunition, made the highest scoro in Group V., received the r Ladics' Challenge Cup and medal (Jfith Company), tho group champion marksman's gold badge, and Mrs. Lowe's trophy. Tho second best shot in the company (who was also under 1C) was Cadet S. Cooper. Ho received a silver meddt donated by the officer commanding tho company (Lieutenant Christophersen).. The Cadet who obtained tho highest Ecore with .303 ammunition was Cadet S. Dawson, who for the second time carried off the Ladies' Challenge Cup and medal (39th Company). Marksmen's badges, won by about 38 Cadots, and medhls, won bv the tug-o'-war team in tho peace celebration sports, were also presented. At the conclusion of the presentations Mr. and Ma Lowe intimated tliat they would this year mado a donation of a trophy, -valued at one guinea, for tho best shot under 16. Tho Cadets showed their appreciation by a hearty vote of thanks. ;

A LOWER HUTT PRESENTATION. At Lower Hutt, Lieutenant C. Tunley, D.C.M., presented to Cadet R. l f . Palmer the Ladies' Challenge Cup for the best shot in No. 38 Company during t'ne year ended May 31 last. It was announced to tho Lower Hutt parade that Mr. A. S. Henderson, who has been using tho drill hall as a skating rink, had offered to arrange a benefit night, the proceeds of whiih wouTu lie devoted to the company's trophy funds.
