AMERICAN TROOPS IN SIBERIA
' SHARP. COMMENT. (Rec. September 16, 8.15 p.m.) Washington, September 15. Mr. N. D. Baker (Secretary for War), before tho Military' Committee of the Mouse, stated -that American troops were bejng maintained in Siberia for the solo purposo of guarding the railroad.
A representative: "That's all bunk. Why does not the Secretary givo tho real reasons, instead of romancing?" Mr. Baker replied that;it was not his fault—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
TO FIGHT IT OUT THEMSELVES NO ALLIED INTERVENTION IN RUSSIA. (Reo. September 1(1, 11.35 p.m.) ' Paris, September. 16. The Supreme Council has como to a unanimous decision on the Russian question. It was a full meeting of tho Council, including Ma-whal Foch and tho Italians. Tho Great Powers inteud to al-' low tho Russian revolutionaries to work out their own salvation.—"The Times."
