SEATOUN PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH

ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of tho Seatoun Presbyterian Church was held last Thursday.. There was a representative gathering of the congregation. Tho Iter. W. Shirer (Moderator) presided. Tho meeting was opened with tho singing of tho "Old Hundredth" and prayer. The treasurer, Mr. Rowntree, reported that the church finances, notwithstand-' ing an exceptionally heavy expenditure, were in a satisfactory condition. Tho sum of JJ3G2 6s. Bd. was raised for church purposes during tho year. The attendance of the boys from Scots' College is much appreciated bv tho congregation, and tho missionary commented favourably on their behaviour. The communion roll shows an increase of 12. Mts. Rowntreo (Sunday School superintendent) gavo a most encouraging report of that important branch of Church ,work'. The roll stands at 77. Tho Moderator eulogised the work of the teaching staff. _ The missionary gave a running narrative of his work during tho year. The Moderator moved, and it.was unanimously agreed: "That this meeting, representing tho members and adherents of Seatoun Presbyterian Church, express their deep appreciation of the pastoral work of'their minister, their entire confidence in him as a spiritual guide." Mr. MTariance moved, and Mr. Liven seconded, the adoption of tho reports. These were carried by acclamation. Itev. Mr. Shirer was heartily thanked for his deep interest in untiring labours on behalf of tho charge. .Miss 11. AVesney received tho thanks of tho congregation for her services at tho organ. During tho ovening a musical programme was submitted, to which tho following contributed: Mcstlames Bethune, King, Gibson, Liven, "Wilson, Miss D. Buddcn, Mr. G. Sutherland. ' Tea was served, and a most satisfactory meeting terminated with tho pronouncing of the benediction.
