Canvas bags, each to lift a hundred tons, have already been used, and it is expected that bags to lift five hundred tons will shortly be utilised. With a battery of eighty bags the biggest ship could be refloated. Victors, Ltd., successfully raised tho 6teamer Main, which was sunk by a submarineoff the Scottish coast, by means of two bass—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
